Part 289s – Smith Robertson Genealogy – Indenture Research – 1829 David & James Smith

06 June 2010

Afternoon,
I’m not complaining, but it is humid. The spectacles fog up immediately as I open the door. At this moment the humidity is 91%, and so I sit at my keyboard with all the windows closed. I need fresh, un-humid air.

Inset image from Google Earth: Approximate location of Bayaleau, Carriacou.

My search continues and the next Record in my Transcription Project is another one of the Carriacou Series. It appears that there is some definite divestiture of land and property that had been taking place. Once again there is no hint or clue of ggg-grandfather James Smith, but I’m beginning to put the relationships of the Bells, the Greens, the Grahams, the McNairns, and the mentioned two Smith families to memory. This Document does not indicate any type of genealogy or ancestral link to ggg-grandfather James.

This next Record was entered to the Grenada Registers of Records 21 December 1829 and appears to be the sale and settlement of a plantation and a parcel of land in the Bayaleau area of Carriacou. The Record begins on page 327 and continues to page 331. The pages are downloaded from the microfilm FHL [1563380].
