My Tangent – Santa Crashed at Interlake Drive

24 December 2011

Good Day and Merry Christmas Eve… From The Pack

Now I pronounce that I am NOT being a Scrooge… but who would have thought that a pack of antlers would soothe the savage beasts. And I’m still working on the 75-page Grenada Registers’ Document dated 1801, in the search for ggg-grandfather James Smith.

But of course, Tinker is not too sure with her antler. (That is not Tinker's tail.) She’s trying to figure out who was that fat man dressed in red running around on the roof.

But Radar, Bella, and Taylor got right down to chewing their Christmas antler sticks.

Enjoy,

Part 615b – Brunhammer Genealogy – New and Updated Descendant Chart

04 December 2011

Good Day,

Supper, not bad… actually quite good. Sous-vide pork loin chops spiced with garlic and herbs; mashed carrots mixed with olive oil and lemon; and roasted peppery spring potatoes accompanied with fig and mint yoghurt dip. Not bad… and I’m still experimenting. Really enjoy cooking with my Sous-Vide thing-a-ma-jig, even though it looks like an old-school doctor’s sterilizing unit.

And tonight I decided to work on the preliminary new and updated Brunhammer Descendant Chart.

This Descendant Chart pictures the Genealogy of the Brunhammer Family, especially Andy’s blood line. (All direct blood line individuals, albeit the ancestors are highlighted in blue-outline and yellow.)

As you can see there are a number of new additions, in red, to the humungous Chart. I will in time be splitting or dividing the Chart into associated Parts.

Enjoy,

Jim

Part 614s – Smith Robertson Genealogy – Indenture Research – 1800 James, Robert, and William Smith – Saint Patrick – Schedule A

02 December 2011

Good Day,

Have you ever had a strange dream, awakened, then tried to get back to sleep so you could finish the dream? I did… and I couldn’t. And all I could remember was that I lost my shoes, had forgotten the roses, and had to pick up the cake… and there were this troupe of pear-shaped cloggers scheduled to perform. And what this has to do with genealogy or the search for my ggg-grandfather James Smith, hell if I know… But it certainly was some strange dream.

And I continue with my Transcription Project, searching for the hint or clue that could lead me to a shred of evidence to the ancestry and genealogy of ggg-grandfather James.

The next entered, on 2 April 1801, is I believe the Schedule A as referred to in my most recent few Postings. There is a difference which I really will not go into too much detail but I thought in the previous Document there was reference to Ten Parts, whereas in this two-page Schedule A, the reference is to eight Parts.

Here are the two Pages, 32 and 33, as downloaded from Item 3 of the microfilm FHL [1563378].

And my transcription -

Part 613ma – Smith McCullogh Genealogy - Addition to McCullogh/Aldridge/Christie Descendant Chart

01 December 2011

Good day,

And here we go again. I have discovered some new, possible additions to the McCullogh Family Tree. But as yet, these are tenuous additions of the Aldridge genealogy. My previous McCullagh/Aldridge Posting to A Genealogy Hunt is Part 607ma.

We know that JK’s great-great-grandmother was born in England. This fact is supported by the information provided on corresponding Canada Censuses. The 1901 Canada Census of Montreal, Quebec records gg-grandmother Julia Adelaide (née Aldridge) McCullagh’s birth as “8 Fevrier 1863” or translated “8 February 1863”.

I have discovered the 1861 England Census page and a Parish Baptism Register entry that in all consideration could provide leads to the genealogy and ancestry of gg-grandmother Julia. The issues are the corresponding dates and calculation of her age and birth year. These I will continue to investigate. I will also follow up my notes in subsequent Postings to A Genealogy Hunt… So stay tuned.

Enjoy,

Jim

Part 612s – Smith Robertson Genealogy – Indenture Research – 1800 James, Robert, and William Smith – Saint Patrick – Part 5 of 5

Good Day,

As I begin this day, I figured that I had better get my Daily Posting off and out to A Genealogy Hunt… but not before my bowl of gruel, of oats, apples, and cinnamon. And in my chair, or I think it is my chair, I sit precariously on the edge with two other occupants; Bella and Radar. You get the picture. Their 12- and 16-pound bodies are warm, but alas, they do take up space.

Today’s transcription work is the 5th part of the 1800 Indenture entered to the Grenada Registers of Records on 2 April 1801… Page 27 through and including Page 31. But be forewarned, the annexed Schedules, A and B, as referred to in the body of this Indenture appear to be an additional 41 pages. This is, all in all, a part of my search and research for the origins and ancestry of my ggg-grandfather James Smith. All-things-being-equal there is nothing that I can note, at this time, as it regards to the Smith Family that, or who, really does stand out as a connection or origin association with or to ggg-grandfather James.

And here goes. Here are the images of Pages 21 through and including 26, from Item 3 of the microfilm FHL [1563378]. Oh and by the way, there are a number of additional other surnames included, especially of those persons who seem to be Clerks and Witnesses to this long, long contract, that I have not included in the Tags and Labels.

My transcription, even my attempt at the German language part.
