Part 179s – Smith Robertson Genealogy – Indenture Research – 1801 Cecile Smith

18 January 2010

Afternoon,

And on occasion I find an image of a record that I cannot transcribe too well purely from the fact that I cannot make out a great percentage of script. This one is an example.

Apart from trying to read the script, at times I have a difficulty with some words, and the first one is “Dispartite”. Or it could be Disparite or disparity of something else? I then began a search to find this specific word. It appears to be a legit word but get a load of the sentence I found it in. From the monthly magazine “Education”, Volume XIII published 1893 from the articleThe Scottish School of Rhetoric” by A.M. Williams; “This dispartite and tautological method of discussion does not tend to clearness”. And of course I haven’t got a clue; I’m still in a fog, and then again the word might not even be dispartite.

So instead of getting bogged down I had better continue to see if there may be at least one clue that could lead to ggg-grandfather James Smith.

This record is from the FHL [1563328] in Item 3 – Grenada Register of Records 1797-1817 (v.G2-R2). All-things-being-equal the Smith, Cecile Smith does not appear to be concurrently connected to ggg-grandfather James.

The three pages are numbered 41, 42, and 43 and follow.

These images are very difficult to read, but here is my attempted transcription.
