Again, good morning,

Weather report… Rain, sun, rain, sun, rain, sun. Take your pick.

My next transcription is a Record entered to the Grenada Register of Records, a Bill of Sale between Robert and Abigail Gentle and Richard Oliver Smith. My genealogy and ancestry radar immediately piqued. There may be a connection of sorts to the Smith family lines through to this Robert and Abigail Gentle. But sorry to say, there is no hint of blatant linking to ggg-grandfather James Smith.

The Record entered 20 December 1830 to the Registers is dated 15 December 1829 and I’ve downloaded the images from the microfilm FHL [1563329], Item 7.

Grenada Know all men by these presents that we Robert
Gentle and Abigail Gentle his wife of the Island of Grenada for and inconsider-
ation of the sum of One hundred and fifty One pounds sixteen shillings cur-
rent money of the said Island of Grenada aforesaid to us in hand well and
truly paid by Richard Oliver Smith Esquire the proprietor of Revolution
Hall Estate in the said Island of Grenada at or before the sealing and deliver
ing of these presents (the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge) have granted

Bargained sold enfeoffed, and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain
sell enfeoff and confirm unto the said Richard Oliver Smith his heirs and assigns
a certain negro Girl slave called Mary Ciel together with her future issue and
Encrease and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rent issues and
profits thereof and all the estate, title, and interest use trust property claim and de
-mand whatsoever; either at law or in equity of us the said Robert Gentle and
Abaigail Gentle or either of us of in or to the said slave named Mary Ciel and of and un
his future issue and increase to have and to hold the said slave Mary Ceil and all
and singular other the premises to the said Richard Oliver Smith his heirs and
assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the said Richard Oliver Smith his
heirs and assigns for ever, And We do hereby Warrant and defend the said slave
Mary Ciel unto and to the use of the said Richard Oliver Smith his heirs and
assigns for ever In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals
this fifteenth day of December in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
twenty nine
