that I Richard Oliver Smith formerly of Gower Street in the County
of Middlesex but now of Exeter in that part of the United Kingdom
of Great Britain and Ireland called England Esquire for and in con-
sideration of the sum of One hundred and thirty two Pounds Current
Money of Grenada to me in hand paid and for divers good causes and
considerations me hereunto moving Have Manumitted enfranchised
and for ever set free and by these presents Do manumit enfranchise
and forever set free a certain Mulatreʃs Slave of mine attached to Revo-
lution Hall Estate in the Island of Grenada called Margaret aged
Eleven Years or thereabouts To have and To Hold by the said Margaret her
full free and entire Manumiʃsion and freedom from henceforth for ever here
after subject to no labour or service right title claim or demands authorized?
of me the said Richard Oliver Smith my Heirs Executors Administrators?
or any other person or persons whomsoever claiming or to claim by _____ or

and Partners send Greeting Whereas We are Mortgagees and hold a Sum
& Security upon Revolution Hall Estate in the parish of Saint John in this
Island of Grenada the property of the within named Richard Oliver Smith
And Whereas the said Richard Oliver Smith by his Attorney William
Cockburn Esquire hath received the within ^ mentioned sum of One hundred and thirty
two Pounds for the within named Multreʃs Slave Margaret and the said
William Cockburn hath with the said sum of Money purchased and placed
upon the said Estate a Negro Man Slave named Joacinth in lieu of the
said Girl Margaret and hath as the Attorney of the said Richard Oliver
Smith and by his directors executed the within Deed of Manumiʃsion
and hath requested the said James Evan Baillie, Hugh Duncan Baillie and George Henry
Ames, Have and each of them hath given granted ratified and confirmed
and Do hereby give grant ratify and confirm unto the said Mulatreʃs Girl
Slave within mentioned her full and absolute freedom and Manumiʃsion
to all intents and purposes & as fully and effectually as they be recision? of
their said Mortgage Lien and Security they have power Title and Authority
so and do for ever quit claim by these presents all right lien or claim of or?
or to the said Slave Margaret which they now have or at any time had
