Part 681mac – Smith McCullogh Genealogy – Updated McCullogh / Aldridge / Christie Descendant Chart

11 May 2012

Good Day,

I am working in my area of genealogy to update a number of my Descendant Charts. As they continue to grow I have a number of options, including splitting them into individual Family Lines. But it is sometimes more conducive to been able to visualize as much detail on one presentation. It is certainly better than having to flip from image to image, albeit, page to page…

The only problem with the ever-expanding Descendant Charts and fitting them onto one page, aka computer screen is that the text and details get smaller and smaller.

Or one could find a powerful magnifying glass. And so I try to create an image that is a crisp and clear as possible, without creating a memory hog image.

The above inserted image is my latest rendition of my McCullogh / Aldridge / Christie Descendant Chart. The image is a PNG formatted image, and all-things-being-equal it is easier to view than the previous JPG image.

I will be adding this Descendant Chart to the McCullogh drop down menu at the top of the page of A Genealogy Hunt.

And thanks Ken.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, comments, ideas, and thoughts.

Enjoy,

Part 652acm – Smith McCullogh Genealogy – Three New Descendant Charts – McCullogh, Aldridge, and Christie

04 March 2012

Burrowed in my house on this gorgeous breezy, albeit windy day, in sunny Tampa, I am closeting myself away from the floating, yellow microbes of the latest pollen assault. I feel claustrophobic, but my eyes, my nose, and my throat, and my diaphragm sort-of thank me for the consideration.

So what do I do cooped up, sans air frais… I attack my PC with the gusto of a genealogy search and rescue mission.

As promised, previously, and due to the expansion of the McCullogh/Aldridge/Christie Descendant Chart I have attempted to re-created three separate new and singular Family Line Charts…

McCullogh Descendant Chart

Aldridge Descendant Chart

Christie Descendant Chart

These should now all be able to be accessed under the top McCullogh label, just under the “t” in the A Genealogy Hunt title at the top of each page.

I am now working on a Trefry Descendant Chart which should expand JK’s maternal line and lineage.

Stay tuned,

Enjoy,

Jim

Part 651a – Smith McCullogh Genealogy – GGGG-Grandparents Thomas and Mary Aldridge – 12 Children

03 March 2012

Good Day,

YES, the pollen count is high… Just ask my eyes, ask my nose. Deadened ears by sonic-choos. See the boxes of Kleenex in every room of this house. And two more months of this cranial hell.

Today I continue my focus on the genealogy and construction of the ancestry of the Aldridge Family line.

Following the lead from the 1851 England Census, see Part 650a,on which it is enumerated that JK’s great-great-great-grandfather Thomas Aldridge was born in “Yorkshire Beverly”. I discovered a microfiche, FHL [6910853] with included extractions from microfilm copies of Bishop’s Transcripts from microfilms FHL [0919386-0919387; 0919421 Item 1].

Here is a generation of my updated McCullogh / Aldridge / Christie Descendant Chart. Shortly, and due to the development and expansion of data and information, I may have to sub-divide the one into multiple Charts.

All-things-being-equal there are three Thomas Aldridges; a father, and two sons christened 29 Sep 1809 and 24 Jun 1815, respectively. There are actually a total of 12 children attributed to the parents, gggg-grandparents Thomas and Mary Aldridge. As two of the sons are both named Thomas I would venture a guess, based on my research experience, that the elder Thomas may have passed away in infancy, and that the second Thomas was given the name Thomas in his stead. The second Thomas is who I believe may be JK’s ggg-grandfather.

It can be deduced that JK’s gggg-grandparents may have been Thomas and Mary Aldridge, the identified parents of the 12 Aldridge children.

I have inserted a downloaded image of the printout of the Beverley, Yorks. St. John and St. Martin Christenings, Page 10.

Note that gggg-grandmother Mary's maiden surname may have be Marsingate. Stay tuned.

Enjoy,

Jim

Part 613ma – Smith McCullogh Genealogy - Addition to McCullogh/Aldridge/Christie Descendant Chart

01 December 2011

Good day,

And here we go again. I have discovered some new, possible additions to the McCullogh Family Tree. But as yet, these are tenuous additions of the Aldridge genealogy. My previous McCullagh/Aldridge Posting to A Genealogy Hunt is Part 607ma.

We know that JK’s great-great-grandmother was born in England. This fact is supported by the information provided on corresponding Canada Censuses. The 1901 Canada Census of Montreal, Quebec records gg-grandmother Julia Adelaide (née Aldridge) McCullagh’s birth as “8 Fevrier 1863” or translated “8 February 1863”.

I have discovered the 1861 England Census page and a Parish Baptism Register entry that in all consideration could provide leads to the genealogy and ancestry of gg-grandmother Julia. The issues are the corresponding dates and calculation of her age and birth year. These I will continue to investigate. I will also follow up my notes in subsequent Postings to A Genealogy Hunt… So stay tuned.

Enjoy,

Jim

Part 590m - Smith McCullogh Genealogy - Updated McCullogh / Christie Descendant Chart

17 October 2011

Good Day,

Next in my updating of my Descendant Charts, a part of the scope of my research and search of my genealogy, ancestry, and Family Lines. Here is the latest updated McCullogh / Christie Descendant Chart.

Please Note: The yellow and blue symbols represent JK's direct blood line. All information on this Descendant Chart is based on current and available information. It may change as new and more correct data is discovered. New and updated data may be entered in red.

The added letters and numbers to the right and left of a name in the Descendant Chart, for example, C-P49, can be used to locate an image of the document as it appears in A Genealogy Hunt.

In order to see the actual Part referred, the Part number, for example "588h" can be entered into the Search This Blog box in the right-hand column. Once you press the Search Button a box should appear under the Headings and the appropriate links will be provided. Move your cursor to the link and click.

Key -

B = Birth

C = Baptism/Christening

M = Marriage

D = Death or Burial

P490 = Part 490.

All Descendant Charts are usually added to the pull-down menus under each appropriate Heading at the top of the page.

If you have any questions, comments, and ideas, please contact me.

Enjoy,

Part 565c – McCullogh Genealogy – GGG-Grandparents William John and Margret Jane (née Swail) Christie – Circa 1895-1901

29 August 2011

Afternoon,

And don’t cha… (sorry, nothing to do with the Pussy Cat Dolls)… just love genealogy and ancestry research.

I discovered a posed photograph taken by Lalonde & Sons of 2092 St. Catherine Street, Montreal, Quebec, in Canada. (See the signature embossing at the bottom of the photograph.) This photograph is proposed to be that of ggg-grandparents William John and Margret Jane (née Swail) Christie. It is provided with the Kingery Family Tree.

There is no date given to the provenance of this picture, but from what I can find (Noel C.) Lalonde & Sons did exist at the 2092 St. Catherine Street location between the years, about 1895 and 1901.

According to the 1901 Canada Census taken April 5, ggg-grandfather William John Christie, a widower was living in Newport, Compton in Quebec. He is enumerated as 80 years old and was born in Ireland, 26 June 1820. According to the Kingery Family Tree, ggg-grandmother Margret (Margaret) Jane (née Swail) Christie passed away at Dunany, Quebec 11 January 1894. (This information is to be established.)

Here is a copy of the 1901 Canada Census –

Part 563mc – McCullogh Genealogy – A New Descendant Chart – McCullogh and Christie Families

27 August 2011

Afternoon,

Following on the heels of Part 562mc, the presentation of the 1920 Marriage Registration of John A. McCullogh and Ruth Jane Christie, I decided that I had better gather my papers and create a McCullogh / Christie Descendant Chart. This is my son’s maternal ancestry and a very important part of his life and being.

Here is my first draft of the McCullogh / Christie Descendant Chart.

I have pulled information and data that I have on file in my databases… and I, up to the wee hours of the morning last night, was cross-referencing Canada Censuses of 1871 through 1911. Also I have downloaded some information from the Drouin Collection of Quebec Vital and Church Records.

As always, this will always be a work in progress. Information will change as new and additional data is discovered. I have added a McCullogh Heading Label at the top of the A Genealogy Hunt. I will be adding associated links pertaining to the McCullogh and associated Family Lines. Please always check back. You never know what I will discover.

Enjoy,

Jim
