My Tangent - Time Again To Reorganize My Genealogy Research

23 August 2011

Morning,

It is that time again to organize my genealogy research and work. Without a specific list of my things-I’ve-got-to-get-done; things-I’m-working-on; things-I-want-get-done; etc., I become lost in a black-hole of paper and information, ancestors and data. You get the picture.

Here is the newly updated list. It is by all means not conclusive, nor is it “set-in-stone”… but it is my organization and guideline.

1. Transcription Project the search for ggg-grandfather James Smith – I am currently transcribing a 29-page from the Grenada Registers of Records dated 2 April 1801.YD I have discovered two Smiths so far – William and Robert.

2. Parker Project – Based on the collected data I believe I need to follow the William Parker, circa 1670s, identified in the Parish Registers of Linton-in-Craven, Yorkshire to Griston in Norfolk.

3. Smith Robertson Genealogy - Respond to and develop cohesive work research regarding gg-granduncle Solomon Abraham information received from Australia.

4. YDNA Update - Determine the possible matching of YDNA 111-marker test results between Smith and Wahl.

5. YDNA Update - Correspondence concerning Brebner/Bremner YDNA issues and project.

6. mtDNA Update - Correspondence regarding my own mtDNA (referencing back to Tasker in Lancashire) with similar H1a1 Haplogroup match from Gloucestershire.

7. Brunhammer Genealogy - Review, update, and corroborate Biddle/Brunhammer information and genealogy data.

8. Brunhammer Genealogy – Get a picture and images of the final resting place in Arlington Cemetery, Pennsylvania of gg-grandmother Mary (née Marie Katz) Brunhammer.

9. Buccino Genealogy - Follow up correspondence regarding Buccini/Buccino.

10. Genealogy Tools - Investigate RestingSpot.com.

11. Genealogy Tools - Possible use of genealogy photobook from AdoramaPix.com

And by all means this is not a complete or unending list. It is just those things and those emails that I need to get done... with some sort of semblance of order.

Enjoy,

Jim

My Tangent – The Rapture at 1313 Mockingbird Lane

22 May 2011

Good afternoon,

Well as we all know by now certain portenders got their mathematical and astrological computations wrong! Didn't those sooth-sayers and head-bump- readers read their Bibles?

As written in Matthew 24:36: “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, by my Father only.” Maybe the charlatans got their Greek letters mixed up… “κανένας άνθρωπος δεν ξέρει” or even their Hebrew “איש אינו יודע ”. Either way you cut it, it is “KNOWETH NO MAN”.

Oh and by the way, I just discovered that MS Word flips the Hebrew text from what Google Translator creates… Maybe Harold Camping was using the wrong translation tool… And there are reports today, or lack thereof regarding the non-sighting of the alleged Reverend Camping… Gone! All gone.

The above inserted image is just another of those Rapture-days gone awry. If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again… and again… and again.

But something must have happened at 1313 Cemetery Lane… See My Tangent. It appears that the neighbors have quickly been caught up in some rapture of time, and are beetling it out. They’ll be gone… They are going, going… gone.

I worked on the Buccino and DiStasio Family ancestries yesterday. We received a great summary document that was put together by a distant family member. And before you say anything, we not using the information as Fact… We are using it as a stepping stone to achieve more access to thoughts, doors and paths that may have been closed or blocked by the proverbial “brick-walls”. It is a great gift, and find, Lou.

And as I was doing that, another email arrived from France. It appears that we have been gifted new information of our Dubuc Family ancestry. Thank you Yann. And thank you Thierry for sharing your work. I will be updating the Dubuc Descendant Chart shortly.

Enjoy, the heat… I getting in the pool.

My Tangent – Iditarod Dogs – My Genealogy Expectations

12 November 2009

Morning,

And I have dogs that now think that they are pygmy goats. I wrote about getting pygmy goats and the need to control the kudzu vines in the yard, so they must have taken it to heart. The only thing is that they are not eating the kudzu vines.

They’re munching on the other type of plant that I planted a number of years back. I think everyone did. It's the type that grows tall and has pink and white and purple flowers and will take over a garden if you let it alone… That’s what they’re munching, or should I say grazing on. And the Rat Terriers, Tinker and Bella must have convinced Taylor, the chocolate Lab, that there is something good about the leaves of that specific plant, because she’s doing the same. Tobi, the yellow Lab just stares and sniffs at them in disbelief. So I now have dogs who think they are otters, cats, and pygmy goats... and critics.

So now, in the throes of the beginning of the holiday season, I’ve decided to train the Rat Terriers to pull a sleigh… a miniature sleigh that is… and maybe enter them into the Iditarod, or at least send them up to the North Pole. And Taylor’s wanting to know if I’m serious, cause she’ll help lick the stamps.

This morning I’ve decided to update my thoughts and expectations that I set out on October 30… I completed a full 10 and two-halves of the 18 that I had listed. I have made progress, and at least thought about the other six. So here’s a new updated list of my thoughts and expectations for the next couple of weeks.
