Part 227s – Smith Robertson Genealogy – Indenture Research – 1821 Five Maybe Six Smiths

02 March 2010

Morning,

Okay I know these Transcriptions are getting boring, but I’m not going to stop my momentum especially now since I know that I’ve just got to keep looking. The one take home message that I’ve learned to date is that search and research in my genealogy and my ancestry it really is a process of elimination. But only elimination if there are no “blatant” clues that can be related back to my family member.

This Document, pages 135 through 137 from the Grenada Register of Records, 1817-1837 (v.R2-Z2) is applicable to the Glasgow Smiths, once again. And these include Archibald, James, James Junior, Archibald Junior, and Archibald the Youngest. It includes, I believe two Bill of Sales, A and B. But there is one portion of a line, on page 136, that, apart from the fact that I can’t make it out completely, I’m not sure if it referring to the James Smith, Junior who is a copartner of the Smith companies or to another James Smith who just happens to also be a Junior.

The line is
Sealed and delivered in the presence of (the ______ James Smith Junr & being first interlined?)”. If anyone can figure out the actual working please feel free to let me know.

The pages from the microfilm FHL [1563329] including the insert in the margin on page 136 -

Enjoy,
