Good Day,

Another find in my search and research of the genealogy and Parisé Family Line. This time CK’s ggg-granduncle Napoléon Parisé, the eldest son of gggg-grandparents Thimothée and Catherine (née Grenier). GGG-Granduncle Napoléon was born and baptized in 1868 in Port Daniel in the Parish of St. Georges, Bonaventure County in Gaspé, Québec.

Good Day,

And today's find in my search and research of the genealogy of the Parisé Family Line is the 1872 Baptism Registration of CK's ggg-granduncle Jean Abel Parisé.  I discovered both the Civil and Parochial Registrations from The Drouin Collection.  Both were downloaded from Ancestry.ca.

GGG-Granduncle Jean Abel Parisé is gggg-grandparents Thimothée and Catherine (née Grenier)'s second child and second son.  He was born 7 September 1872 and baptized on the 10^th of the same month.  

Presently I have discovered an elder brother, ggg-granduncle Napolèon

Good Day,

I’ve been a wee bit removed from my regular search and research in my genealogy work. I’m trying to set myself on some sort of daily schedule to complete the reams of documents that I have most recent discovered of the Parisé Family Line. I figured I would just bite the bullet and head straight into the work and present my findings.

The next on my lists of finds is the Baptism Registration of CK’s ggg-grandaunt Marie Agnès Parisé. As the document indicates she was born 12 December 1874 and baptized on Christmas Day.

The search and research continues. This time I will be presenting a number of discovered documents for ancestors, especially of CK’s collateral line and genealogy.

The first would be CK’s ggg-grandaunt Marie Archange Almanda Parisé. She was born 11 November 1876 in the Port Daniel vicinity in the County Bonaventure, Québec. Her parents were gggg-grandparents Thimothée and Catherine (née Grenier) Parisé.

I have downloaded the images from the Douin Collection as provided by the Quebec, Vital and Church Records, 1621-1967, databases by Ancestry.ca. The first is Image 267 of 543.

Part 835p – Smith Groh Genealogy – Parisé Descendant Chart Updated

Good Day,

A good way to begin a new month, February, is with an update of a visual representation of the CK’s Parisé Family Descendant Chart. It is a very good method, for me to, to have this type of pictorial arrangement, of the ancestry and genealogy of the family that I am currently working on.

This is now my 8^th update of the Parisé Descendant Chart. This new update now includes 6-times great-grandparents Michel and Rosalie (née Roussi) Parisey and 7-times great-grandparents – Michel and Marie (née Albert) Parisey and Pierre Léon and Anne (née Chapados) Roussi.

All information on this Descendant Chart is based on current and available information. It may change as new and more correct data is discovered. New and updated day may be entered in red. A red or blue and yellow symbol represents the actual blood line.

Part 835pr – Smith Groh Genealogy – 1797 Marriage – 6-Times Great-Grandparents Michel Parisey and Rosalie Roussi – Paspébiac, Bonaventure, Québec, Canada

Good Day,

My next find in my search and research of the genealogy and ancestry of the Parisé Family are two Marriage Registrations. They are the 1797 Parish and Civil Marriage Registrations for CK’s 6-times great-grandparents Michel Parisey and Rosalie Roussi.

According to the documents the marriage took place 12 October 1797 in Paspébiac in the County of Bonaventure, in Gaspé, Québec, Canada. It appears that gggggg-grandmother Rosalie (née Roussi) Parisey was from Paspébiac. And we now have the names of her parents, 7-times great-grandparents Pierre Léon Roussi and Anne, what I believe is, Chapados.

On the other hand we have another new discovery. It appears that according to the documentation that gggggg-grandfather Michel Parisey was from the south across Chaleur Bay, from Caraquet in New Brunswick. Coincidentally this is approximately 200 miles from where CK’s father was born in Oromocto. Amazing!

Also we are now introduced to gggggg-grandfather Michel’s parents, 7-times great-grandparents Michel Parisey and Marie Albert. Another branch discovered.

Part 829p – Smith Groh Genealogy – 1798 Baptism – 5-Times Great-Grandfather Michel Barthélemie Parisey – Bonaventure, Quebec, Canada

Good Day,

This morning I have traced some new documentation and data concerning the genealogy of the Pariza, aka Parisaya, aka Parisé Family Line. And now we are introduced to a new variation of the spelling of the surname – Parisey.

2011 Canadian Election Atlas of Bonaventure, Quebec

The document is of the Parish records of Notre Dame of the County of Bonaventure. It is the Baptism registration of CK’s ggggg-grandfather Michel Barthélemie Parisey. From my transcription I have determined that he was baptized 24 August 1798. His parents are 6-times great-grandparents Michel Parisey and Rosalie Roussi of Paspebiac.

Part 820p – Smith Groh Genealogy – Parisé Descendant Chart Updated

Good Day,

And now on the second day of Christmas I figure that there is a lot of organizing and re-scheduling of my genealogy search and research work to do. I have been traipsing after so many family lines that I need to decide which project I need to consider and where shall I place my immediate focus.

Obviously one such family line and ancestry search is the Parisé Family Line. All-things-being-equal I hope to discover from whence they arrived at Port Daniel and to Bonaventure in the Gaspé Peninsula in Québec, Canada.

To begin my continued journey into the lives and ancestry of our genealogy, I decided to update my Parisé Descendant Chart.

At times it is always better to have a second pair of eyes, and most definitely a sharper mind assisting with the transcription of a document in the search and research of one’s genealogy. In this case, a gracious volunteer through Transcribe, a Yahoo Group, has offered tremendous assistance in transcribing the 1867 Marriage Registration for gggg-grandparents Thimothée (aka Timothy) and Catherine (née Grenier) Parisé.

Part 811dp – Smith Groh Genealogy – 1827 Marriage – GGGGG-Grandparents Michel and Marie Thérèse (née Dugué) Parisé – Bonaventure, Quebec, Canada

Good Day,

Is it providence that I am learning about marriage dispensations of the Roman Catholic Church? Following and researching the genealogy of the Parisé Family Line certainly is causing me to understand, to some degree, how the rules of consanguinity are approached. My logical mind, of course, has to try and figure out how the elements of relationship are considered and who is related to whom to whom… if that makes any sense, of course?

My next billing of search and research is that of the 1827 Marriage Registration of CK’s ggggg-grandparents Michel and Marie Thérèse (née Dugué) Parisé. (Note that 5-times great-grandmother Marie Thérèse’s surname is spelled Dugué as opposed to Duguay.)

GGGGG-Grandfather Michel Parisé, according to the 1827 Marriage Registration is a widower. His previous wife’s name was Veronique Dugué. Within the Registration there is approval for the marriage by ggggg-grandmother Marie Thérèse’s parents 6-times great grandparents Alexandre and Marie (née Grenier) Dugué. Further there is a level of dispensation, I believe, of the third degree provided by the Bishop of Quebec, Monsignor Bernard-Claude Panet. From what I have been able to understand a dispensation of the third degree may be granted if second cousins wished to marry one another.
